The typical wedding dj cost can range from $750-$1350
There are three types of wedding DJs that you will encounter when booking a wedding dj. Most people in the DJ community will identify them as either Amateur DJs, Professional DJs, and Premium Wedding DJs. How do you pick the right one? Well, this is all dependent on what you decide your wedding budget will allocate for a DJ. When looking for DJs, remember that there not created equal and that their pricing for wedding DJ services may differ depending on the options they offer. Let me explain!
The average cost of an amateur wedding dj will be about $250-$550
You most likely will encounter bargain DJs who may have a bit of experience in DJing weddings but lack the expertise and knowledge to understand the wedding day proceedings. It is not to scare you, though, as you may find bargain DJs who are new to your area's market but don't have the market reputation to back them. Ensure when you find that diamond in the ruff wedding DJ that they can support their allegations. One last thing to consider when looking for an amateur DJ is that they might be great on value, but they will lack quality. I mean, they may not have things like backup equipment when things fail, and things do fail. They may not have a website or reviews from past wedding couples to back them. Let me put it this way; if this is something you are considering, would you get your haircut done by someone who had no experience? Suppose you are okay with compromising on your wedding day and feel comfortable with your chosen bargain DJs using your wedding as testing grounds. In that case, this may be the option for you.
Things to consider when booking an amateur wedding DJ for the average cost of $400
Are they licenced and insured
Do they have a contract
What are their backup plans if something fails or their equipment goes awry
what would happen if they could not attend your wedding (aka: got sick or had a family emergency)
As always, there are exceptions to this, but this is what you will most likely encounter?
The average cost of a Professional wedding DJs will be about $700-$1350
What you most likely will encounter with Professional DJs is a wedding specialist that has an excellent understanding of the average wedding receptions and ceremony proceedings. The Professional DJ will have a good presence in their market area and have past couples reviews that you're able to read on either Weddingwire or Google. Your Professional DJ should make simple announcements/MC for your wedding if you do not have someone dedicated to doing so. They will also be able to offer other add ons or enhancements to your weddings, such as uplighting, customized monograms or intelligent lighting. They should have a website and social media channels you can visit to get more information about their wedding dj packages and services that they offer. You will also find that they will have a contract or terms of the agreement and collect a deposit before booking with you, so they are locked to your date. If this type of dj is more to your liking, you sould know that these are typically one-person companies. Some of them may be premium wedding DJs as they are more of boutique wedding specialist DJs. They only take on a limited number of couples a year to ensure that they get a truly personalized experience for their wedding. The only downside to choosing this type of DJs is that they are usually don't have the means for hosting the big production weddings with multiple levels involved. Suppose you're looking For a DJ to have clear, concise announcements with fun and organized planning and play music to please all ages. This type of DJ will defiantly take some of the stress out of your wedding. Then this is a DJ you should defiantly consider.
Things to consider when booking a Professional DJ for the average cost of $1025
Ensure to book in advance as they may not have your date available due to it being a one-person company
What are their backup plans if something fails or their equipment goes awry
what would happen if they could not attend your wedding (aka: got sick or had a family emergency)
Are they willing to MC for you
Do they offer Add ons
As always, there are exceptions to this, but this is what you will most likely encounter?
The average cost of Premium Wedding DJs will be about $1400-$2500+
Finally, the Premium Wedding DJs are usually what we call the multi-opp wedding DJ. Their primary focus is on providing a premium service to their couples and achieves the highest customer service. This wedding dj service is what we usually consider to be the wedding specialists in the wedding community as they have the most experience. The multi-opp DJs experience comes from dealing with wedding couples. Not necessarily DJing. As the multi-opp DJ might say, they have DJed 400+ weddings. It usually means the DJ company has had 400+ weddings. I say this because the premium wedding Djs typically rely on a roster of DJs for you to pick from, with varying experience levels. What does this mean to you? It means that you can get a DJ backed by a DJ company that has been in the wedding market for ages. When considering these DJ companies, they lose touch in terms of personalization with the wedding couple, as they are dealing with multiple couples at any given time. However, they can accommodate those big production weddings as they have many employees who can run different wedding aspects. If you feel like this is more of a fit for you, you should know that there are not many drawbacks as they have been doing weddings for a while. The only thing to keep in mind when booking wedding DJ Services with a Premium DJ is that many of them will charge high pricing for their more experienced DJs. They may seem like the wedding specialists but do start to lose their flair and don't enjoy DJing weddings as they have done hundreds by now. This type of DJ is only in some cases, and it is hard to spot sometimes.
Things to consider when booking a Premium wedding DJ for the average cost of $1950
May have DJs burned out of DJing weddings
Charge a premium price for their wedding services
even though they may be wedding specialist, they lack complete personalized engagement with there couple as they do a multitude of weddings
As always, there are exceptions to this, but this is what you will most likely encounter?
